Assignment #4-Beliefs and Values
On a global and local scale I feel that my personal beliefs don’t have a effect on others. Everyone has their own beliefs and are entitled to these. No one can change people’s beliefs so knowing what your beliefs are is a good way to understand the beliefs of others around you. Everyone deserves the right to express their beliefs weither this is in their sexual orientation or ethnicity. Everyone’s values are different, mine are completely different from yours. Just because you value something different from someone else doesn’t mean that someone else’s are wrong, they just value things differently. Equality should be given out no matter their age, race, gender or ethnicity. I won’t put someone down because they have a different belief than me. I may disagree with it but I will not judge someone based on this. Like before everyone has their own values and beliefs and are entitled to these, and the key to being open to others beliefs are to know your own and know what values and beliefs really are.
I also think think that people should be able to hold any personal beliefs that they want. I think that people’s views should be respected and that individuals should try to see things from other people points of view. As long as someone isn’t trying to force their own beliefs on someone else I believe that they should be respected.
